I'm Wilma. Girl. No dragon tattoo. I love theatre, fashion, music that makes me orgasm and taking pictures. I have split myself between three places (London-Stockholm-Tallinn), but my current hub is Tallinn. Wherever my circus goes, there's always a party. If the party does end, I watch cat videos and blog about it all. Check out my yearly summaries below to get to know me a bit better. Header: Mandel Photography

Wilma Circus 2023 Recap

Spotify Wrapped, but with a Wilma's twist.
My 2023 in short.

1. What describes 2023?
The end of maternity leave. Shortly back at work and then redundancy, the initial shock changed into joyful time at home. Apartment association board gave me some tough time.

2. Something that you hadn't done before?
My opinion about breastfeeding was published in Postimees. I starred in a movie (a student one, but still). Also, I got to review and test the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

3. Where did you travel?
Switzerland, Germany & France. A wedding dress hunt in Riga. And a mini get-away to London.

4. Greatest achievement of 2023?
While updating my CV and applying to jobs, I realised that I'm rather talented and useful addition to any team.

5. Best purchase?
Kreemisai at Müürivahe Bakery

6. Moment that made you really happy?
Every moment in Haapsalu and my joyful birthday party (with Fred's amazing DJ set)

7. Saddest moments?
The death news and seeing my friends grieving.

8. What song reminds you of 2023?
Rich Spirit – Kendrick Lamar. Sing of Me – Ewert Sundja. You – Robin Sternberg 100x at my birthday party.

9. Favourite TV show in 2023?
Formula 1 & Estonian Mastechef

10. Favourite book 2023?
Actually read quite a lot in my own scale, so found a lot of gems – Juhan Ulfsak's biography, The gates of Europe: a history of Ukraine – Serhii Plokhy, Stalin's Cows – Sofi Oksanen,

11. Best theatre play in 2023?
The joint project Macbeth of Estonian Drama Theatre, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Estonia Concert Hall. One for the history books.

12. Best record and concert in 2023?
Anett & Fredi was the only concert I attended, so I guess it was the best?

13. Memorable 2023 moments in the world? The good, the sad, the ugly.
The bill of marriage equality in Estonia.
Märt Avandi cocaine sketch on Pealtnägija
The death of Väino Aren, Tina Turner & Matthew Perry.
Barbie & Oppenheimer.
Ringvaate memmed & BSH memes.

14. How do you remember year 2023?
I was a lovely year with fond moments with my family. In the end there's only love.

last month of maternity leave

Personal face of death – attended funeral of a legend
(and supported friends in grief):

My last month of maternity leave (Pebbles + kindergarten = yassss):

Addressed breast feeding stigmas in a article in Postimees.
Attending probably the best play in 2023 Macbeth.

back at work, back at the office

Staying at home was more fun than office.
Avandi had more fun on coke. We all prefer something different:

cut my hair & celebrated Ringvaade's two old ladies that became a meme.

Took Pebbles to all kind of cultural places and
felt a bit guilty for not spending so much time with her than before.

Fred got older and wiser,
but kept his stripes:
Wilma went on Circus tour and travelled in April to France, Germany and Switzerland
Sadly, we lost a golden star – Krissu Rosenkampf-Jägerfreund.

Traditional Easter photoshoot:

The wedding of Julian & Marit – our first trip without Pebbles:

Blue-black-white – Estonia represent:

We all will live happily ever after:

Circus Tour in Switzerland, France and Germany.
The story of magical mountains, blissful hotel service and lovely grown-up time.

Basel – the hub of art:

He took me to the Alps:

May 2023
May is the month of celebrations – the birthdays of Pebbles & I.
After years of no fun, in 2023 Fred threw a massive birthday party for me.

Pebbles the 2-year old:

In May I blossom, it's the peak of the year (always):

Despite drinking Champagne with Mõmmi lemonade budget, Fred threw a party for me.
Quality catering, classy wine & my lovely koorekiht. *happy tears*:

Definitely one of the fondest moments in 2023 was when Fred did a DJ set at the party.
Including only my favourites, starting with Linking Park and ending with Boiler Room & Eurovision:

The ultimate quiz "How well do you know Wilma" was joyful,
the food was delicious,
Robin Stjernberg - You one hundred times:

June 2023 –
Despite dramatic news that I was made redundant, it was one of the most joyful months in 2023. We set up our home-base in Haapsalu. I visited Nummi in Tartu. And spent Midsummers at Songland, in wild-wild-west themed clothes.

Hubert & Leida:

I got this Southern girl who plays hard to get,
so I have to take the Lux Express to reach her.
Maajaam, oyster, tequila. Shootis näeme!

Laulasmaa became a new destination,

The news of losing my job was rather joyful.
Less money, more time, more Pebbeles:

Unexpected joys:

July 2023 –
Logged off from work and started my unemployment in July.
As the calendar was suddenly empty, then we basically stationed ourselves in Haapsalu

Ott's ex-girlfriend called me and asked if I would like to star in movie.
Some would say it's a fake, but sometimes the randomness is real life:

The month dedicated to Barbie + Oppenheimer,
thus I had to dig out my vintage gems:

and they had the due date at the same time. Synchronised swimming:

The family of Müürivahe opened the Estonian Hamptons door to us
We ate kreemisai, we swam at Väike Viik, we read books,
we cycled, we made a lot of naps, we enjoyed life.

Although Euribor knocked on our door and I had no idea what future would bring –
it was the first enjoyable summer as a family of three.
2021 I was in a postpartum deep hole and 2022 summer was utter faux pas:

Haapsalu helped her to become 100% diaper-free. AYYOOOO:

We got another surprise visit from neighbours across the Baltic Sea
that spoke adorable Fenno-Swedish:

We were having a good time:

Fred was run over by a car, Ian was back in town
and Haapsalu was our hub.

My broken man:

2023 marks the pause of Müürivahe Era.
New views, new level of royal:

Tattoos were on sale at Realiseerimiskeskus:

Hello, movie career:

After Haapsalu and Riga, I finally returned to the city and faced the fucking fact that I was unemployed. LinkedIn post *check*. Updated CV *check*.

Too cool for kindergarten and employment:

Say yes to the dress Riga edition – we found a dress that was used in May 2024:

Disney princesses happily ever after in Riga:

When other's were getting married, then Fred & I

At your viewing pleasure, hetero cringe. A lovely husband.
A talented kid. A fairytale house. At a cosy small town.

As always, my mom babysits Pebbles on our wedding anniversary.
And we go out to play:

October full of Nukuteater, date nights and Tallinn Trashion Week.

He chill, she over the top dramatic:

Another day at the theatre:

Our model friend lifted (literally) the cover from her pregnancy
and we went to see one hot mama at Tallinn Fashion Week:

London trip and a job offer that I accepted.
The last month of unemployment turned out to be the busiest of them all.

A little posh window-shopping:

The cover of Vogue UK:

Prawn cocktail and gooseberry fool makes me happy:

Back home it was freezing,
but we were covered:

And just like that, my first day at work:

New office who dis?

2017201820212022, 2023 Totside jõulud
with excessively overflowing glamour and
outstanding powerpoint presentations.

Cotton candy + tonic = the most Instagrammable drink ever:

Näiteka reunion – theatre school had a very big impact on my life.
And it was so lovely to see everyone again.

Sleepover at Ian's:

New kid on the block – Von Krahl was dead, long live House10 karaoke
We rented the private rooms and sang our heart out:

Last supper before karaoke:

The most beautiful sink we've ever seen,
so we covered it up:
